Opacifying glass is a kind of glass which is uniformly dispersed in colorless transparent glass and its refractive index is different from that of mother glass, and is translucent or opaque due to light scattering. When the size of crystal particles is smaller than the wavelength of visible light, selective dispersion occurs and pure white glass cannot be obtained.
